Just because something is difficult doesn't mean it isn't worth fighting for. Just because you face obstacles doesn't mean it isn't the will of God. And sometimes, those obstacles, difficulties, and trials are sent by the Lord to make you stronger.
Sometimes the journey to the goal is just as important as the goal. Our goal in all things should be to glorify Christ; to live the abundant life He gave us for Him; to press on in the steps that He ordered for us. Even when it's difficult It's required that a good soldier endure hardships. When we come to the end of our life, may our Commanding Officer, the Lord Jesus Christ be able to say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
The devil may pursue us with his fiery darts of discouragement, temptation, or fear; but we must put on the armor of God and go forth to battle. We must not give up. Fulfilling the will of God in our lives and the eternal souls of man are at stake, and both are priceless.
It's not enough to start well. It's important to finish well. How many have started out with fire and passion, but later fizzled out, never to be heard of again? No! God requires faithfulness of His children. He promises before we ever start that there will be difficulties; that the world will hate us; that there will be temptations to flee; that there will be dark nights and tempestuous seas.
If we lay down in the battle we bring shame to our Lord. It's alright to be knocked down, but it's never alright to remain there and claim defeat. Not when we are told that we are more than conquerors in Christ. He has never lost a battle. He has never known defeat, and never will He lead us astray. We must follow Him faithfully; for He will lead faithfully.
He may ask us to bare hardships and suffer loss. He may ask us to press on in the dark. He may ask us to do hard things, but we must follow knowing that the Bible is true; these things are for our good and for His glory. He is still on the throne, and He sees all things, even when we can't see the next step.
