Nehemiah
built the wall. He didn't care about satan's emissaries in high places
of government that tried to stop him. He didn't care about the rumors
stirred against him, and he possessed discernment when the false prophet
lied to him.
He stood firmly, with his sword in one hand and his tool
in the other. He was on a mission for God, sanctioned by his king and he
didn't stop until the task was finished.
I want that! I want that Determination, Discernment, and Dedication to
stand firm, do what God has given me to do until I'm called home and
never hesitate in the face of opposition. I think however, the key to
Nehemiah's faithfulness started in the first chapter when he prayed
brokenly and fervently to the Lord. That's where all the rest comes
from.
May God grant us the three strengths I see in Nehemiah: Determination, Discernment, and Dedication. And may we find them in the throne room of our God.
